Harvesting & Usage

Harvest young, tender pods (2-4 inches long) every 2-3 days to maintain quality. Okra is used in bhindi masala, curries, stews, pickles, and fried dishes. It is also dried and ground for use as a thickener.

Storage

Store fresh okra in a paper bag in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. For longer storage, blanch and freeze whole or sliced okra. Avoid washing until ready to use to prevent sliminess.
